mPortal Provides Mobile Access to salesforce.com
SAN FRANCISCO: At salesforce.com’s
Dreamforce user and developer conference, mPortal Inc,
a leading provider of mobile solutions for businesses,
today announced the availability of mSales, bringing
the power of Sales Force Automation (SFA) to mobile
phone users. Integrated with salesforce.com, mSales
allows sales executives to access and update important
account information using their existing mobile phones,
eliminating the need to carry multiple portable computing
devices. mSales is available to customers across the
globe on mobile phones supporting Sun’s Java (J2ME)
platform and the RIM Blackberry family of products.
In an increasingly competitive world, real-time access
to time critical information can often play a key role
in the success of any sales campaign. With mSales, a
sales team accesses and updates key customer information
in Accounts, Contacts, Events, Opportunities, Leads,
and Tasks throughout the day and while on the road.
By enabling customers to work with existing hardware
and phones within their current infrastructure, mPortal
lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and enables
rapid mobilization of sales force solutions. Requiring
no capital expense, mSales is available as a monthly
or annual subscription per user that includes downloadable
applications for the mobile phone, system updates, and
online help.
“mPortal embodies the spirit of on-demand applications
with mSales,” said Roger Goulart, vice president
of global alliances, salesforce.com. “By bringing
the familiar, intuitive interface of salesforce.com
to mobile phones, mPortal is driving new levels of convenience
and productivity to salesforce.com customers.”
With mSales, mPortal expands the capability
of salesforce.com into mobile and wireless environments.
The sales team and back office can access and exchange
critical data instantly, enabling a dynamic environment
for marketplace success. Key capabilities now available
from the mobile phone are:
Account Management
The sales team can create accounts while in the field,
which can be immediately accessed and supported by back
office customer service. The sales team can access information
about all accounts as needed from the office or the
field.
Contact Management
The back office can update customer contact information
that is accessed by the sales team in the field. The
sales team can look up directions and contact information
for each customer visit. Wireless access quickly accommodates
meeting changes or new opportunities.
Event Management
Sales teams can schedule meetings with customers and
prospects while capturing schedule changes. Wireless
access ensures that back office staff can efficiently
schedule events around the sales team’s up-to-the-minute
schedule.
Opportunity Management
The sales team can update the deal value, stage in pipeline,
and next steps while in the field, which optimizes the
sales reporting process. The back office can create
current status reports on team progress without waiting
for field sales to visit the office.
Lead Management
The back office team can report new leads to the sales
team with supporting information on the prospect. Your
sales team does not lose time checking voice mail or
receiving messages back at the office.
Task Management
Follow-up tasks for the customer or prospect, such as
providing product specifications or warranty information,
can be managed by the marketing staff at the back office.
“mPortal is committed to mobilizing business applications
for customers across the world, improving the ROI from
existing business applications and mobile communications
investments,” said DP Venkatesh, CEO of mPortal.
“With more than 110,000 subscribers in 110 countries,
salesforce.com is a global provider of on-demand applications
and thus a natural partner for mPortal to work with
in developing this leading-edge solution.”
mSales for salesforce.com is available on J2ME and RIM
devices on GPRS, CDMA, and iDEN networks.
