mPortal named Rising Star in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program

Attributes its 2,329 Percent Revenue Growth to innovative and user friendly mobility solutions

Vienna, Va., 10/14/04 - mPortal, Inc. has been named a Rising Star on the 2003 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in North America. A special category, the Rising Star list ranks 25 winners that have been in business less than five years, but at least three years. They are ranked based on average percentage of growth in revenues over three years (2000 to 2002).

mPortal's CEO D.P. Venkatesh credits the customer centric product development with the company's 2329% revenue growth over the past three years. He said, "mPortal has been at the forefront of end-to-end mobile solutions for both businesses and service providers. Creating meaningful and relevant products that impact the top line or bottom line is really the key to adding value to our customers. Our business customers have achieved significant productivity increases and reduced operational costs using our products. Service providers are coming back for more of our products to increase their customer retention and loyalty, and average revenue per user."

"It's not easy for a young company to get traction in the technology marketplace let alone report such phenomenal revenue growth," said Mark A. Evans, national managing partner of Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. "It's a credit to mPortal's leadership that they've managed to ramp up their business so quickly."

mPortal's increase in revenues of 2329 percent over the three-year period of 2000 to 2002 resulted in mPortal being named as a Rising Star in the 2003 Deloitte Technology Fast 50.

Rising Star Qualifications
To qualify as a Fast 50 Rising Star, entrants must have had 2000 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD and $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively; and 2002 operating revenues must be at least $1 million USD or CD. Deloitte researchers examined financial statements to validate operating revenues.

Entrants must also be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
