mPortal Increases Xerox Productivity with J2ME Wireless
Field Services Application
Vienna, VA – mPortal Inc, a leading edge wireless
solutions company, announced today an agreement to deliver
a wireless field service solution to Xerox Corporation.
Xerox and mPortal have completed a pilot program and
are now launching a large-scale deployment of a wireless
field service solution. The solution is expected to
improve customer service and reduce costs by allowing
Xerox Customer Service Engineers (CSEs) to wirelessly
access and update customer information, including daily
work orders.

The solution was designed and developed by mPortal on
top of its Enterprise Everywhere™ mobile application
platform. The application runs through the mPortal server
to Xerox’s existing proprietary back-end systems.
All Xerox CSEs in North America will be using the mPortal
solution by the end of the year. “We think mPortal’s
mobile field solution will be a solid addition to the
tools we use to improve our service capabilities,”

enables us to respond to our customers more quickly
and to make optimal use of our most important asset
