Handset Product Manager             

The Handset Product Manager will be a member of the multi-location mPortal Product Development Team and/or the Product Implementation Team based at mPortal's location in Bangalore, India.


Job Description:

· Lead a Handset Product Team in India and work closely with the US
  Product Team to define new products in a variety of handset
  environments (J2ME, Windows Mobile, BREW, Symbian etc)
· Research handset and platform technologies and competitor
  products
· Generate new product ideas, define feature sets and provide
  product roadmaps.
· Present new product ideas to Management Team
· Work with development team to develop product prototypes and
  validate product ideas
· Define and produce product functional specifications
· Define and produce product technical specifications
· Communicate product specifications and provide technical support
  to technical team
· Create product documents for and provide support to marketing
  team
· Work within a cross-functional team
· Research, Evaluate & Interface with Development Partners

Experience Requirements:

· BE/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
· 8+ years of experience with at least 5+ years in a
  lead/management role.
· Strong experience and knowledge of multiple handset technologies
  including J2ME, Windows Mobile, Palm, BREW and Symbian
· Strong experience and knowledge of building application-level
  products in multiple handset technologies (J2ME, Windows Mobile,
  Palm, BREW, Symbian etc) including architecting and building rich
  complex handset user interfaces (MMI)
